
05 FEBRUARY, 2021, MANILA--Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) and the APEC-Antwerp/Flanders Port Training Center, Port of Antwerp International (APEC-PAI) have entered into a new agreement on port cooperation in a bid to create a framework for a mutually beneficial cooperation between the °µÍø³Ô¹Ïand the APEC-PAI in the field of port training, consultancy, port management and investment opportunities.
The new agreement is expected to establish a technical cooperation on capacity building to enhance the skills, abilities, and knowledge in the management and operation of the port thereby creating an environment of well-trained, knowledgeable and able port professionals for °µÍø³Ô¹Ïwhile strengthening the traditional friendship between the parties and its ports.
Signed and sealed late last year, the new 5-year pact greatly benefits the °µÍø³Ô¹Ïas it enables the development of a framework where APEC/PAI can support °µÍø³Ô¹Ïin the further development of its training center to further strengthen the knowledge and skill level of both °µÍø³Ô¹Ïand terminal operator employees especially white and blue collar workers as both parties will engage in the joint development of professional education and training programs.
