21 JULY��2023, MANILA —The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) continues its role as an eco-warrior in plastic waste management system contributing to cleaner and plastic-free oceans by implementing “Clean Port, Clean Oceans Project” nationwide.��

Recently, �����Թ�received a recognition from the World Wide Fund for Nature (WFF) - Philippines for its untiring efforts and commitment in implementing more sustainable plastic-free operations by enhancing waste management capacity and collection and by implementing a zero plastic community in its 130 ports all over the country.��

21 JULY��2023, MANILA —The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) showed a net income of Php 6.19B during the first half of 2023, higher by 7.85% against target, and a 23.18% or 1.16B increase compared to Php 5.02B net income for the same period in 2022.��

12 JULY��2023, MANILA —��The Philippine Ports recently received the country’s highest ranking in the World Bank (WB) Logistics Performance Index (LPI) since 2007, jumping to the 43rd spot from the 60th place in the latest 2023 WB LPI report. �����Թ�also generated a whopping Php 20.4B in revenues in 2022--- the highest collected so far since the inception of the agency 48 years ago.

21 JUNE��2023, MANILA —��The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) clarifies that the collection of P20 service fee at the Matnog Port is not ��authorized by �����Թ�after its Port Management Office (PMO) Bicol recently received a series of reports of the unauthorized collection from passengers at the port.

19��JUNE��2023, MANILA —��Philippine ports continued to participate in economic globalization, advancing its development among countries in South East Asia as reflected in the latest data from Drewry Maritime Research, surpassing static volumes of other South East Asian peers.��

The port strategy report shows that the Port of Manila was the only port in the region with a double-digit growth compared to the the largest ports in the region with a decline in volumes and other ports in the region recording only single-digit increases.

15��JUNE��2023, MANILA —��The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) promptly conducts emergency evacuation at its Head Office in Port Area, Manila after the earthquake happened at 10 a.m. today, 15 June 2023.��

More or less 800 employees of the agency were evacuated from the �����Թ�Head Office building going to a safer area in the event of structure collapse or damage to its office's facilities.��

28 FEBRUARY��2023, MANILA —��The Philippine Ports Authority generated a whopping Php 20.4B in revenues in 2022, the highest collected so far since the inception of the agency 48 years ago. According to �����Թ�General Manager Jay Santiago, this success can be attributed to the authority's sound fiscal management and brought about by the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions leading to a positive rebound of the economy.

13 JUNE��2023, MANILA —��The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) is undertaking various preparatory activities to ready its ports and facilities nationwide amid the onset of the rainy season with the enhanced effects of the southwest monsoon or ‘Habagat.’

In line with the preparations, �����Թ�General Manager Jay Santiago has directed the agency’s 25 Port Management Offices (PMOs) to ensure that all port facilities are ready to cater to passengers concerns especially those who will be affected by trip cancellations of their respective shipping lines due to inclement weather conditions.
