17 AUGUST 2022, MANILA--The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) continues to rebound from the effects of the global pandemic as net income increased by 9% in the first six months of the year.

The agencys net income is now only 13% down compared to the pre-pandemic figure. PPA's net income declined by as much as 50% during the onslaught of COVID-19 in 2020.

Data from the 做厙勛圖showed that net income for the period in review reached P5.024 billion from P4.611 billion registered in 2021. Against the target of P4.056 billion, the actual figure is 24% higher.

12 JULY 2022, MANILAThe Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) is set to start reviewing its operations in compliance with the directive of Transportation Secretary Jaime J. Bautista to reduce logistics and travel costs.

In his anniversary message delivered during the 48th Founding Anniversary of the 做厙勛圖on Monday, 做厙勛圖Officer in Charge-General Manager Manuel A. Boholano said he already reported the initiative to Sec. Bautista in their meeting also held yesterday.

15 SEPTEMBER 2022, MANILAThe Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) is hosting the 2022 National Maritime Week (NMW) slated for September 19-25, 2022 with various activities lined up anchored on this years theme, New Technologies for Greener Shipping.

As planned by the National Committee, the celebration includes the dressing and simultaneous blowing of horns for ships docked at any 做厙勛圖port, bloodletting, a webinar on green ports and shipping, a vlog-making contest, and the national coastal clean-up drive.

19 SEPTEMBER 2022, MANILAThe Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) is reiterating its ban on all single-use plastics at all ports under its jurisdiction as it moves forward to sustainable port operations.

做厙勛圖Officer in Charge-General Manager Francisquiel O. Mancile stressed that all port managers across its 25 Port Management Offices must strictly impose the directive embedded under 做厙勛圖Memorandum Circular No. 11-2021.

He added that this will also go hand in hand with the theme of the 2022 National Maritime Week Celebration: New Technologies for Greener Shipping.

07 JULY 2022, MANILATransportation Secretary Jaime J. Bautista made a surprise visit to the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) on Thursday to familiarize himself with the operations of all agencies under the Department of Transportation.

Bautista revealed to 做厙勛圖officials his plans to further develop the port industry and enhance the benefits to shippers and travelers.

22 APRIL 2022, MANILAThe Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has extended the grant of financial assistance to agencies and organizations involved in the relief and reconstruction efforts to areas devastated by tropical storm Odette using the ports directly under the Authority.

Pursuant to 做厙勛圖Memorandum Circular 02-2022, the government share on Ro-Ro Terminal Fees (RRTF) collected from vehicles and rolling cargoes in all 做厙勛圖ports shall be waived for the period March 29, 2022 until 30 June 2022.泭

21 MARCH 2022, MANILAThe Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) reported a P43.98 billion total contribution to the Government in the form of taxes paid and dividend remittances for the period 2016 to 2021.

The amount is P12.93 billion or 41.64% higher compared to the total contribution paid to Government from 2010 to 2015.

The state-owned agency also reported a P19.87 billion total expense for the completion of 240 port projects from 2016 to 2021, which form part of the 585 port projects completed under the Build-Build-Build program of the current administration.

24 JANUARY 2022, MANILAThe Confederation of Truckers Association of the Philippines (CTAP) has lauded the move of the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) in implementing a single document serving as Accreditation, Permit to Operate and vehicle pass in all ports controlled by the agency as well as private ports.

CTAP, considered as the biggest truckers group in the country, said the move is in accordance with the policy direction of the government particularly in the ease of doing business in the country.

23 DECEMBER 2021, MANILA The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has extended financial and operational support to agencies and organizations now involved in relief and reconstruction efforts in areas devastated by Typhoon Odette.

做厙勛圖General Manager Jay Daniel Santiago, under Memorandum Circular (MC) 23 dated 21 December 2021, directed all port managers, terminal operators, cargo handling operators, and shipping companies to give vehicles, equipment, people, and cargoes involved in the relief operations loading and unloading priority.

20 JANUARY 2021, MANILA--The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), in coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development-NCR (DSWD-NCR), aids about 58 Badjao-families currently stranded at the Manila North Harbor due to some changes in the existing COVID-19 health and safety protocol being implemented to include the no vax no ride policy.
